Un-Happy Hour: Women’s Equal Pay Day
Women’s Equal Pay Day is Tuesday, April 2, 2019. This date symbolizes how far into the new year a woman must work to earn wages equal to what a white man made in the prior year.
Equal Pay Day was created by the National Committee on Pay Equity (NCPE) in 1996 to raise awareness of the persistent gap in women’s and men’s pay. YWCA and Youngstown Business and Professional Woman host an annual “Un-Happy Hour” to raise awareness of the gender wage gap in today’s workplace.
