Girls’ Leadership

Girls’ Leadership

Girls’ Leadership helps high school girls reach their potential and develop the skills they need to thrive. The program meets 3 times per week at YWCA’s offices in Warren and weekly through a collaboration with River Gate High School. Girls participate in workshops, working through specially designed curricula, and learning from speakers, field trips, and service projects. Girls in the program experience increased self-confidence, gain leadership skills, improve their friendships and relationships, and engage in cultural diversity and service learning activities.

Girls’ Leadership uses the Girl’s Circle curriculum. Girls will be exposed to art, lessons, activities, and discussions which focus on important areas of self-development for young girls. Some Girl’s Circle activities & discussions:  Who I Am, Peer Relationships, Body Image, Paths to the Future and much more.

Our desire is that through Girls’ Leadership, we will be able to encourage girls to want to make a difference in their communities, increase their abilities and chances of future academic success, and lead to a more confident and healthier life style.
