Y-Girls STEAM Ahead: Youngstown

Open to girls entering grades 5-8.

YWCA Mahoning Valley Y-Girls STEAM Ahead is a series of virtual summer camp activities geared toward girls in middle school. Y-Girls aims to address the gender gap in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics by providing resources and workshops to engage girls’ interests in STEAM fields and keep them interested for future STEAM careers.

Youngstown’s Y-Girls’ STEAM Ahead Camps are generously sponsored by:

Summer 2020 Summer Camp Registration Details

Virtual camp run Mondays-Fridays, 9 AM – 4 PM, July 27 – August 7

Registration is FREE. 

Call 330-746-6361 x126 by July 17 to register.

Participants will work from home computer, laptop or Chromebook. Webcam and microphone needed to participate.

2020 Youngstown Summer STEAM Information

Summer Manufacturing Institute: In collaboration with Oh Wow! Children’s Center for Science and Technology, this camp focuses STEM with a special interest in Biomedical Engineering.

Biz 3D & Entrepreneurship: Campers learn 3D printing and how to create a business. They will also learn how this exciting technology is inspiring entrepreneurs, empowering everyone to become a “maker” and bring their ideas into reality.

Art Projects: Natural Tie-Dye, Purse/Bag Transformation, Paint-along, Storytelling, Cooking Demonstration, Gardening, etc. Projects will be accomplished from DIY Kits given to participants and things found in your homes.
