Bright Futures Save the Date

Thank you to our 2020 Bright Futures Sponsor:

Youngstown Area Jewish Federation

Established in 1994, YWCA Young Women With Bright Futures Awards Program provides an opportunity for community recognition of outstanding young women who are high school seniors.  Honorees are selected by their high school administrators based on leadership qualities, creative talents, the pursuit of academic excellence, and volunteer service.

YWCA Mahoning Valley has received a grant from the Thomases Family Endowment of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation to provide scholarship awards to two senior students for $3,000 and $2,000 per year for up to four years of college towards their bachelor’s degree.  Total award amount per student is $12,000 and $8,000 over four years of college.  Scholarships are limited to honorees pursuing colleges with Main Campuses in Northeastern Ohio and Northwestern Pennsylvania.

Also included are three leadership development sessions and a community service project.  The leadership development component has been expanded to include women who are juniors in high school.
