YWCA Announces New Board Members at 120th Annual Meeting

Previous and current YWCA Board and Staff at 120th Annual Meeting on May 28, 2025

YOUNGSTOWN— YWCA Mahoning Valley recognized new Board of Director members and issued special honors at its 120th Annual Meeting on May 28, 2025.

The evening featured a social hour with musical performances by Arielle Green Hall. Marisa Sergi, CEO of L’uva Bella Winery and Brands, was the keynote speaker for the program.

Newly elected members of the YWCA Board of Directors are: Alison Gasser: Marketing & Sustainability Director, Gasser Chair Co.; Teri Lacy: Director, Aspire Trumbull County; Trumbull Career and Technical Center; Gina Magazine: Grant Consultant, K.O Consulting, LLC; Carolyn Overton: Associate Consultant, Communications & Marketing, K.O. Consulting, LLC; Latonyn Williamson, Director of Operations, Fuel by Design. Recognition was given to Christine Gerst, Vice President and Senior Financial Advisor at Merrill as an outgoing Board member.

Elected to the Board Governance Committee for 2025-2026: Kristen Olmi, Owner of K.O. Consulting, LLC; Tanay Hill, Business Resource Advisor, Valley Resource Development Partners; Alexis Smith, DO, Radiologist, Penn Highlands Healthcare; Shanna Chasebi, Senior Content Manager, FactSet Research Systems and Joy Tang, Associate Professor of Psychology, Youngstown State University.

The Annual Meeting also included special awards to individuals whose dedication exemplifies YWCA’s mission. Outstanding Staff Member Award: Joy Smith, Staff Service Award: Jessica Gibbs, Outstanding Board Member Award: Sara Daugherty, Board Chair; Outstanding Volunteer Award: Claudia Harris, 120th Year Recognition Award: Kristen Olmi, Past Board Chair; 30 Years of Service Award: Leah Merritt, YWCA President & CEO.
